Eight Memphis-area attorneys honored
(MEMPHIS, TENN. – August 20, 2016) Eight Memphis-area attorneys were named Pillars of Excellence by the University of Memphis (UofM) Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law Alumni Chapter on Saturday, August 20 with Richard Glassman, 2016 president of the Law Alumni Chapter, serving as emcee for the event.
The honorees for the evening included G. Pat Arnoult, Saul Belz, John Dunlap, Jef Feibelman, Philip G. Kaminsky, Henry Klein and former Memphis Mayor A.C. Wharton. The Law Alumni Chapter also recognized Tennessee Supreme Court Justice Holly Kirby as Special Distinguished Alumna.
“I am thrilled to a part of the evening’s events,” said Glassman, senior shareholder and president at Glassman, Wyatt, Tuttle and Cox, P.C. “I not only call the recipients colleagues but friends. I can’t say enough about the impact that this 2016 class has made in our community and on our profession in Memphis and nationwide.”
The Law Alumni Chapter created the Pillars of Excellence Award in 2007 to recognize attorneys in the Memphis-area who have made significant contributions to the practice of law. Recipients also must be living at the time of selection and must have been admitted to the practice of law for more than 45 years
Richard, along with his wife Susan, also sponsored a VIP Meet and Greet for the honorees. The night’s events also included a cocktail reception and dinner along with the awards reception.
“Everyone who knows me, knows my love for the UofM,” said Glassman. “I especially enjoy participating in this event because it combines my passion and livelihood of law with the UofM.”
